Workplace Consultant – St. John’s, NL

In-house service teams provide a full range of facility management services to help transform business environments into more effective workplaces. ABI is currently seeking a Workplace Consultant to join their team in St. John’s.

Position Summary:
Based in St. John’s and reporting to the Vice President and General Manager, the Workplace Consultant will be responsible for all aspects of their clients’ account portfolio encompassing the provincial market while directing new growth for ABI.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Meets and/or exceeds quotas for new and existing business growth, revenue and gross profit
  • Establishes, maintains and develops relationships and resulting furniture sales with existing and prospective clients
  • Analyzes client needs and develops solutions related to space planning, office layouts and product specification requirements
  • Acquires new business and develops existing business by understanding the company’s capabilities to fit requirements, positions and levels called; documents call activity; and develops account profiles for top clients/prospects
  • Develops and builds trust with prospects/clients by fulfilling commitments and handling issues in order to gain a high level of client satisfaction
  • Gains knowledge of pending opportunities through Fortune 1000 lists, annual reports, vertical markets, competitor offerings and business journals to develop a detailed sales plan that will accomplish assigned goals
  • Prepares and delivers presentations to clients and potential customers
  • Manages the sales process by understanding client strategies and decision-making process, forecasting new business, managing the sales funnel and following through to gain more business and maintain client relationships
  • Manages account project profitability by tracking and monitoring both gross profit and net operating profit margins for each account to develop plans; discusses the results with the client
  • Works closely with furniture support areas including design, customer service, project management and delivery and installation to ensure the project is delivered as specified
  • Stays informed about vendor product lines and product changes/introductions, pricing/policy changes, lead times/deadlines and other essential information

Minimum Hiring Qualifications and Experience:

  • Business degree or 2 to 5 years relevant sales experience
  • Computer literacy including competence in Windows-based desktop applications
