DMRF — 5743 University Ave. Suite 98, Halifax, NS
Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation (DMRF) provides critical support to local health research by fundraising to attract the best resources available to bolster their leading-edge work. Located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on the campus of Dalhousie University, DMRF needed a new space to meet the needs of an evolving research agenda. Initially, DMRF leadership envisioned a more traditional, fixed-wall space; however, with advice from Atlantic Business Interiors (ABI), they saw real value in creating a more flexible environment.
The team at ABI worked with the space designer and client project team to interview internal stakeholders to complete a comprehensive needs assessment. In addition to staff requirements, DMRF sought to create an inviting environment to host their high-net-worth donors. The result was a flexible and open workspace conducive to relationship building.
While the DMRF office space was designed before the onset of the global pandemic, its flexibility has proved extremely valuable. Since the pandemic, having used demountable/movable walls, the space has been modified and updated to meet the demands of a hybrid workspace.Full Study
